Sometimes organizations want a little more hands-on help from The Board Doctor. We got you covered!
Facilitation for Strategic Planning
Remember before the pandemic when we could gather the board and staff for a good old fashioned planning retreat? Well, whether it is in person or virtual we can still get the whole team together to choose priorities, decide important questions, or grow together with shared mission, vision, and values. The Board Doctor is a trained facilitator who can keep the discussion from bogging down – and moving forward toward decisions.
Document Review and/or Development
It takes time and effort to get all of the board’s policies in place: financial controls, human resources, volunteers, advocacy, conflict of interest, document retention and destruction, board, officer and committee job descriptions. The Board Doctor can help your group review existing documents for potential revision (this includes bylaws!) and help develop original policy documents to support your good governance efforts.
Sometimes groups need a knowledgeable partner standing by their side for a longer period of transition to assist with recruiting and orienting board members, organizing board meetings, getting the board on track, or reviewing, revising, drafting, and explaining all manner of board policies from bylaws, to financial checks and balances, to Conflict of Interest statements and more. Engagements can last from 3 months up to 12.
